It's a sad sad day

Christmas just passed and the very next day, I received news that a friend passed away. He was on the boat that capsized off Pulau Sibu. It was boxing day when the accident happened. We're attending the funeral wake tonight.

It's just tragic. No other way to describe it.

One of the other deceased was his cousin who was due to get married next year. The other deceased were his friends. Up till now, there is still on more of their friend who is still missing.

After I got to know about his passing, I spent the night going through his facebook page. Looking at his pictures broke my heart. There were pictures of his mother, whom he lived with. Pictures of him doing the things he loved, always looking happy. He was a soft spoken guy with a super easy going disposition. Always had a smile for everyone.

Ben, you'll be sorely missed. See you later.

Hello.

I know, I know. This blog is almost dead-like.

The last few weeks have been emotional turmoil for me.

I'm trying my best to cope but the mind always wanders.

Amongst my gloom and doom, there have been some bright sparks. I got a free Iphone 4 (32gb no less) and also, I closed a deal that will reap me a few thousands. I'm using the Iphone as an e-book reader. It was seriously much harder to read stuff on my blackberry. I now have a blackberry and an Iphone. Just one more thing to carry in my ever stuffed-to-the-max bag. Speaking of that, I'm thinking of getting a new tote bag. The LV Neverfull MM is the ideal bag for me, can throw all my junk in. No monograms for me. Probably in damier.

Here's a picture of my ever sleep cat. Her name is Meme.
No, I'm not responsible for her name.
Not me!

Photo taken using the Iphone 4, using some Korean software's Fish Eye effect.

What's a great birthday gift?

My friends find me hard to shop for. This year, I got a Forever 21 e-gift certificate from them as my birthday present. My order is at Vpost currently. I'm waiting for my Drugstore.com order to arrive before I ship them back to Singapore.

So what did I buy? (or should I say what did my friend's e-gift certificate get me?) Here's some pictures of what I bought. I went overboard with the shopping and went over the amount given to me. Oh well.....

I would like to that my girls for this. Awesome birthday present :)

Hotel Living

Some pictures of the hotel from my most recent trip.

Hotel living is fine for a while, after a while,
I look forward to going home.

Glass Elevators. You'd probably not want to stay here if you have a fear of heights!

Often in hotels, I set up my "workstation".
Here's my work area at the beginning of the trip

Here it is on the last night before I flew back to Singapore.

Messy I know.

And yes, I was watching Glee :)

I attended this super huge fashion exhibition.
Imagine 3 times the size of Singapore Expo.
Will post pictures I took at the exhibition next time.
It's almost 4am and I need to go to bed!

Good night world.

Krabi - May 2010

Krabi pictures from last month. I am super slow in posting, I know :)

Christina and me on our way to Hong Island. Super sleepy at this point of time.
We stayed up late the night before. Not totally awake yet!

Christina has wind in her hair!

Somehow, I love this picture.

We saw loads and loads of humongous jelly fishes in open waters!
Cannot imagine getting stung by one of them.
Oh, Christina got stung on the face by a baby jelly fish. LOL.

The long tail boats that we took!

We asked the boat men to jump into the water for the shot and they did.
Christina is behind the boat man. She jumped too but cannot see her!

Here's a shot of Christina jumping into the water!

Us in the water + one boat man.

Fish frenzy!

More next time!

Mr Tantric @ Zirca

Friday, my friend Christina bought tickets as a favor to someone for this man pageant at Zirca on Sunday. Contestants came out dressed in work overalls and helmets with flash lights. We watched for a while and got disinterested very soon.

Drag queen doing hosting duties. Very very talkative. I tuned out after a while.

The drinks. How else to pass the time.

Then we started to play with the lighting!

Oh my pretty jug! More lighting at play.

Le Le Pot 乐乐锅 Steamboat Dinner

Met my cousins for dinner, together with my brother at Le Le Pot!

乐乐锅 is at 58 Seng Poh Rd #01-23, just opposite Tiong Bahru Market.

Time to order!

We had the herbal chicken soup and the laksa soup.

Beef slices ... love!

Prawns (the pic makes them look bigger than they are! Hah!)

Crab roll or something like that, I cannot remember the name off hand now. Sorry!

3 layer pork (directly translated!)

We all loved the fried man tou with condensed milk.... really yum!

Pizza Sunday

On Sunday, the weather was so hot that venturing outdoors did not seem a good idea. So, it's time to order pizza. We decided on Canadian Pizza, trying 2 flavors we have not tried before.

The Mexican Fiesta pizza! Lean ground beef, chilli, capsicum!

And the Chicken Fajita pizza with Fajita Spiced Chicken, Onions, Capsicum and salsa.

Close up of the Mexican Fiesta. I preferred this over the Chicken Fajita one :)

Dental scaling for my dog soon!

One of my dogs is scheduled for a dental scaling next week. The vet said she has to do a consultation before I can make an appointment for dental scaling.

The consultation + blood test cost $147+

This is not including the cost of the dental scaling which I am estimating to be around $200-$300? Hopefully not more than that. Dogs have to be anesthetized for this. Will be dropping her off at the vet in the morning and picking her just before dinner time.

On a lighter note, my dog is obese and is now on veterinary fat burners.

Oh yeah, I kid you not.
